Tangle Tuesday with a twist

Hello everyone :)

Today I have done the tangle Tuesday with a twist! The twist being that everyone can take part however you like. You could print out the tangle below to colour or copy it then colour it in. It is completely up to you. Here is the image for you to colour if you wish to the great thing is that the image is only playing card size meaning you can easily take this colouring out with you and colour on the go.  I hope you have fun with this and stay tuned for more adult colouring based videos on my YouTube channel this week .

Video Hop Printables

Hello, I am really sorry but I am not great at keeping up to date with my blog.  I am however going to endeavor to use this more and post more of my videos and ideas.  I hope that you are all enjoying the video hop and have continued to watch all of the videos.  I have really enjoyed being a part of the group and really appreciate that Shannon asked me to join in.

Dictionary Art Journal

My first Dictionary art Journal page where I create a Peacock page.  I really enjoyed this process and was surprised at how good the pages were to journal on.   If there is a specific word that you would like me to do next please write in the comments and let me know :) 

I did this video for the #pawgustart event which is an event run by the creative arts collaboration where creative you tubers shared all their animal related videos.  All you need to do is type #pawgustart into the search in youtube to get the videos.

Mini Journal Monday Prompt Mermaid

Hello, in this Mini Journal Monday I was given the prompt Mermaid.   Now, mermaids are something that I have never drawn before so it did take me out of my comfort zone a bit, which I think is a good thing.  For ages I have wanted to do a collage piece so I decided to collage the mermaid using elements from magazines and scrap papers punched into hearts.  I did 2 videos for this process as it makes it easier to upload and because I did not start till late :)

Mini Journal Monday, Flowers, Butterflys and you go girl prompt.

Here is the 2nd video for the Mini Journal Monday where I use the prompt of Flowers, Butterflys and you Go girl.  I love drawing faces and need lots of practice so I enjoyed this one as well.

Here I will post all my Mini Journal Monday Prompts.  Mini Journal Monday is a Mini Journal series that I am currently doing on my you tube channel.  Followers of my channel post in the comments the prompts that they would like to see for the following week.  I post this every fortnight.

Tangle tuesday

Today I have done a mandala for tangle Tuesday on the Fauxbonichi journalers Facebook page. We have prompts everyday and today is tangle Tuesday.

I am far far from being an expert at this but wanted to have a go. I really enjoyed it and was surprised at how I just thought of ideas as I went. I have posted the template (follow the link) here as some people may not have compass and protractor so this can be printed out and drawn on top of or used underneath paper as a guide. I hope you enjoy doing this I have done a short video of the process just in case anyone is interested. I intend to make a copy of this to colour and to keep one black and white.

Journaling by 5s

Since starting this blog I have been busy making you tube videos and am really enjoying the process of sharing my work :) I have since come across the idea of Journaling by 5s an idea that was first thought of by Shannon Green.

This is a super fast way of journaling whereby 20 pages have to be completed in 15 minutes. There are 5 steps and with each step there is 2 different prompts that you can use.  On my you tube channel I have started to document my progress with this challenge as it is not easy trying to keep to the time restriction has been difficult! Hope that you enjoy the videos.

I will continue to update my progress as I do each stage and have created a playlist on youtube especially for this challenge. I would be interested if you have done this challenge and if so what would you do differently if you were to do it again?

April twinchie challenge

I am really looking forward to doing this challenge with everyone. The challenge itself I thought about due to having a art swap in which the theme was squares. I instantly thought about doing a series of twinchies.

Twinchies are 2 inch by 2 inch pieces of artwork. It is like art journalling in miniture. The great thing I feel is that these pieces can take less time to do and you can experiment with new techniques and textures without the fear that you are spoiling your big piece of artwork.  

The challenge itself is as follows 

You complete a twinchie a day.

Each one must take no longer than 30 minutes 

I hope that everyone likes the challenge there is no theme to follow. However you may wish to incorporate elements from your day, maybe part of a receipt from a purchase, a stamp from a letter you received? 

I do not want people to have to buy anything to complete this challenge the idea is to use up some of your scraps as we all have these tiny pieces of paper lying around that need using!

 I hope this short video explains the challenge more and what our end result will be. 

Junk Journal

I wanted to show you all a Junk Journal that I made for my mom for mothers day.  Inside the Journal I put in loads of photographs of the family and some older photographs of me and my sister.  I also included loads of tags and letters to my Mom she really liked the Junk Journal.  I hope that you enjoy watching the video of the journal. 

Making your own decorative tape

I wanted to share with you a great idea that I found online to make your own decorative tape.  I have blogged about making washi tape another way over on my other blog.  I wanted to try out this idea that I found on you tube where you make washi tape using your gelli plate and sellotape or sticky back plastic.  It is so simple to do and the results are wonderful! and this is so addictive I think I may be doing a lot more. The great thing is that you can achieve really different results depending on what backing paper you use as well.
